Install day
What a Phoenix appointment looks like
We confirm the glass
Your year, make and model (or the VIN) tells us which windshield your car takes: camera bracket, rain sensor, heated wiper area, heads-up display. The glass on the truck matches it.
The technician meets you
At home, at work or at an apartment lot. Tell us about gate codes, a guest list or a garage height limit when you book, so nobody waits at a call box.
Old glass out, new glass in
The cracked windshield comes out, the frame is cleaned and primed, and the new glass is set in fresh urethane. Most installs take about 30–45 minutes.
Camera calibration
If a camera sits behind the mirror, it gets calibrated in the same visit where the procedure can be done on site. How calibration works.
Safe-to-drive time
The technician tells you when the car is safe to drive. That depends on the urethane and the weather that afternoon, so there is no fixed clock.
Other glass
Side windows, back glass and glass roofs too
Windshield replacement is our main service. The same mobile visit covers door windows, back glass and sunroofs as well.
- Door glass
Broken side window
A smashed window in July heat leaves the cabin open to dust and sun. We replace the door glass and vacuum the shards out of the door and the seats.
- Back glass
Car rear window
The rear window on a sedan, SUV or truck, with the defroster lines and any antenna connection plugged back in.
- Sunroof
Sunroof and glass roof panels
Tilting sunroof glass and large fixed glass roofs. Motors and tracks are a sunroof shop's job, and we say so before booking.
- Calibration
ADAS camera calibration
Lane-keep and automatic braking read the road through the windshield. After a new windshield, the camera gets set to the maker's specifications.
Phoenix roads
Why Phoenix windshields give out
Freeway work across the Valley puts loose gravel on the road. ADOT has new ramps going in where Loop 303 meets I-17, a rebuild of the I-10 and Loop 101 interchange in the West Valley, and widening on Loop 101 between I-17 and 75th Avenue. A stone thrown up there starts a chip that heat can stretch into a crack.
Summer adds the strain. In 2024 Phoenix ran 113 days in a row at 100°F or hotter, a record that ended on September 17. Glass that bakes in a parking lot and then meets cold air from the vents is under real stress, and a chip at the edge rarely stays a chip. Our windshield replacement page has the full road list and a summer install checklist.
Hail is rare here, but not unheard of. On October 5, 2010, storms crossed the metro with large hail, and the National Weather Service logged stones 2.5 inches across in Scottsdale. Most Phoenix glass damage still comes from the road, not the sky.
Monsoon dust
Caught in a haboob? Pull aside, then check the glass
From June 15 to September 30 a wall of dust can roll over a Valley freeway with little warning. The National Weather Service's advice is short: Pull Aside, Stay Alive. Once the storm has passed, a quick look at the windshield tells you what it did.
- During the storm: pull off the road as far as you can, turn off every light, set the parking brake and keep your foot off the brake pedal.
- Do not run the wipers dry over a dusty windshield. Grit dragged across the glass leaves fine scratches that glare in low sun.
- Rinse the glass with plenty of water before the first wipe, then look at it from the driver's seat with the sun behind you.
- Look for new chips, star breaks and a frosted, sand-blasted patch low on the passenger side, where blown debris tends to hit.
- A crack that starts at the edge, or one that grows over the next hot afternoon, means the windshield needs replacing. Text a photo to (877) 350-5962.
Wind can also throw palm fronds and patio furniture into parked cars. Door glass and back glass broken that way are on our auto glass page.

The technician arrived on time, did excellent work, and made sure everything was installed correctly before leaving. The quality of the windshield and workmanship exceeded my expectations, and the pricing was fair and transparent.

Phoenix windshield questions
Something else? Call our Phoenix line, (602) 782-5144, or text a photo to (877) 350-5962.
How much does a windshield replacement cost in Phoenix?
The price depends on the glass your car needs: a camera bracket, a heads-up display, acoustic layers or a heated wiper area all change it. Send your year, make and model, or the VIN, and we quote that exact glass. With full glass coverage on an Arizona policy, it is often $0 out of pocket after we check the policy.
Can you replace my windshield at my apartment complex?
Yes, in most lots. We need a parking spot with room to open both front doors, and the gate code or a call box name if the lot is gated. If the complex has vendor rules, tell us when you book and we work within them.
Do you work in the heat of a Phoenix summer?
Yes. Shade helps the urethane and the technician, so a carport, a covered spot or a garage with room to work is best on a hot afternoon. If none is available, an early slot after 8am is the next best choice.
What if a dust storm or a monsoon cell is coming on my install day?
We do not set glass in rain or blowing dust. If a storm is moving toward your part of the city, we call to move the appointment, and you choose the new time.
Do I have to be there for the whole job?
Someone needs to hand over the keys at the start and hear the safe-to-drive time at the end. In between you can keep working; most installs take about 30–45 minutes.
